## What the Report Measures

The Hiring Velocity Report calculates:

-   Time from job creation to the first candidate reaching a selected stage.
-   Average time for all candidates to reach that stage.
-   Average time from job creation until candidates first reach each selected stage.

These insights help you compare hiring progress across roles and identify milestones candidates take longer to reach.

## Generate the Report

1.  Open **Hiring Velocity Report**.
2.  Select the jobs you want to analyze.
3.  Use search to filter and choose relevant jobs.
4.  Pick the hiring stage you want to evaluate.
5.  Click **Generate Report**.

## Report Details

The chart displays the average days from job creation to the first recorded arrival at each selected stage for candidates on the job. The report table also shows how many days it took the first candidate to reach the stage. You can export the graph for further use.

## How Metrics Are Calculated

### Time for First Candidate to Reach a Stage

**Formula:** Stage Date - Job Creation Date

This shows how long it took from job creation until the first candidate reached the selected stage.

### Average Time for All Candidates to Reach a Stage

**Formula:** Total Time / Number of Candidates in the Hiring Stage

Total time is the sum of each candidate’s first recorded stage date minus the job creation date. The chart rounds the average up to a whole day.

This is not time spent inside the stage. A candidate who later leaves the stage still contributes their first-arrival timing.
